Introduction

Maivin Carrier includes a hardware watchdog circuit that is required to be serviced periodically.  If the watchdog is not serviced by software periodically, the watchdog circuit will complete a full power cycle on the board.  

Problem

The unit resets/power cycles periodically every 25s.

If the Watchdog signal is not toggled within the time out period, the board will be power cycled.  This will continue around a 25s period.

Solution

A hardware based watchdog is included.  If the watchdog signal is not toggled every 25s, then the board will be power cycled.

The watchdog can be disabled if Jumper J10 is removed.  This should be removed for recovery mode software updates, as that software does not service the watchdog, causing multiple power cycles of the boards and software update failures.
