Introduction
This article describes how to record GPS logs into the standard GPS Exchange Format "GPX" and how to view in online.
Requirements
- Maivin 2 or Maivin 1 with GPS Expansion Module
- GPS Antenna correctly installed.
- Torizon for Maivin 6.5.0.1 or newer
Configuration
The gpxlogger command is distributed as part of gpsd and is included in the Torizon for Maivin 6.5.0.1 release. We also provide a systemd service file which can be used to auto-start gpxlogger at startup with the logs appearing in the torizon user home directory.
The following command will enable the gpxlogger service to always run on boot, the resulting file will be in the /home/torizon directory with a timestamped filename using the format YYYY-MM-DD_HH:MM:SS.gpx.
sudo systemctl enable gpxlogger
GPX Viewer
A free online viewer called gpx.studio is available to which you can upload the GPX file captured from the Maivin.
